2 Dead, 1 Hurt in Melbourne Mall Shooting
Gunfire erupted inside the Melbourne Square Mall on Saturday morning, killing two people and injuring another.
Authorities with the Melbourne Police Department said the shooting happened just after 9:30 a.m. and estimated about 100 people were at the mall at the time.
Most of those in the mall were preparing to open stores for the day.
Melbourne Police Department Cmdr. Vincent Pryce said the shooting happened in the mall’s food court. He said a man and a woman were shot before the gunman, Jose Garcia Rodriguez, 57, of Palm Bay, turned his weapon on himself.
